  • Forged Dragons and Wizards

    September 3, 2022 /

I’m trying to build up inventory for a medieval festival where I’ll be doing some forging demos. The dragons are coming out really cool and I’m really loving how the wizards are looking.

  • There Be Dragons in These Hills

    By Jason Crum

I used a mix of new and reclaimed steel to forge this dragon wall hook. The wood is reclaimed, and I used watercolor paints to make Water-based stain, which I used to blend the yellow into red.

I don’t do many purely artistic pieces. I really loved doing this one, though.

  • Made with Love in the Hills of Tennessee

The steel is all salvaged from the scrap of other projects. The slab of walnut was salvaged from a burn pile at a local swimming hole.

  • This Bowie-style camp knife is finally complete

    By Jason Crum

This build took me about four weeks, but the results are well worth it. Couldn’t be happier with how this blade turned out.

It’s not even in the knife yet, but this is one very cool knife handle

  • Roots Run Deep at the Forge

    By Jason Crum

This shelf is made from all reclaimed wood and steel.

The roots were all hot cut by hand. The cedar wood was rescued from a neighbor’s burn pile.

  • Check out the old hook

    By Jason Crum

It was a long day at the forge, but I got a few things done.

The blacksmith knife is 5160 spring steel with a metallic gray paracord wrapped handle.

The bbq set includes a spatula, toasting fork, and a steak flipper, made from railroad spikes.

This wrench was found half buried on a farm. There was no way to save it for regular use, so it now has a new life as a very unique wall hook. The patina on this wrench hook makes it one of my favorite pieces. Hope you like it.

My wife came up with this design. They came out pretty cool
